CBB1 [CrossBody Bag 1] is a bag designed for everyday use, made for students and users who carry their laptops as well as smaller everyday-carry items.
Made for my Intro to Soft Goods class' final project. Taught by professor Leslie Fontana.
__ EARLY SKETCHES
I wanted to have a better understanding of the form that I was going for, and how organic or industrial the bag's aesthetics should be. The feel of the bag was also something which I considered a lot, and the crossbody look certainly contributes to a cooler feeling when wearing than conventional over-the-shoulder bags.
__ FIT AND SIZE
I began the process by making very simple laptop sleeves attached to a strap to better understand how big I wanted the bag and the strap to be.
__ FIRST PATTERN
The first patter did not work, since it totally transformed its shape once the laptop was inserted, creating an unnatractive soft shape. To change that, in the final iteration of the bag, the pattern's shape was closely informed by the laptop itself.

__ CONCLUSION AND THOUGHTS
The final bag turned out as a fully functional product that I frequently wear.
For a future version, I would change the bag patterns so that less gussets have to be sewn together to avoid thickness, which made some parts really difficult to sew.
